What to expect during your first visit
The first visit combines an in-depth interview with a physical examination during which time you will be given ample time to discuss the details of your main concern. You will be asked questions regarding family medical history, body system functions, personal goals, life-style, sleep and diet. The main goal of the first visit is to diagnose the root cause of the issues at hand and develop a treatment plan. Allow two hours for the first visit. Subsequent visits for treatment generally last about one hour. These treatments are uniquely designed to treat you and your specific needs. One of the many benefits of Five Element Acupuncture is the degree of customized treatment you will receive. No two people are alike, therefore no two treatments are the same.

Fees: First visit is $100. Follow up treatments are $75. A sliding scale fee is available for those in need.

What about my doctor?
Acupuncture is an excellent complement to the care you receive from your doctor. It is always better to have a team working together towards the ultimate goal of your good health and well-being. By working with your doctor, it may be possible to reduce or eliminate some of the medications you are currently on. I recommend that you inform your doctor that you are seeing an Acupuncturist. If your doctor would like to discuss my treatment strategy I will gladly make myself available. It is important for you to discuss any changes you want to make regarding your medications with your doctor first.
Insurance Coverage
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rhode Island insurance accepted provided that your plan specifically covers Acupuncture. Check with your plan manager for details including coverage, number of annual visits and amount of co-pay. If your current coverage does not include Acupuncture then you may be able to add it for a very reasonable fee.
